Madras Walks

I’d a never before time in Madras. The so called Music City, has evolved into a hub of creative monsters. I took the opportunity to walk in my favorite places: Pantheon Road, TH Road, Beach Shore in the morning and night, The Madras Museum Theatre, it’s a splendid feel. The undeniable heat was troubling, but amazingly it troubled only the first day, after that I’m all set with the heat and salt. Rahman is still the best selling artist, anything with the tag name Rahman sells like a hot cake! The knack of finding the pulse of youth has been his highest form of skill. I remember right from the Prabhu Deva Dance Numbers, to the mid-College numbers, to today’s VTV numbers, Rahman knows the pulse. Somehow I cannot separate Rahman from Madras, I end-up mixing both the topics. One noticeable thing is the compound-wall constructed around Central Railway Station, they all have the same crown as the Central Station Tower. That’s a cute architectural-touch. Chennai Metropolitan has acquired some of the prominent street walls in Madras, and painted them with colorful cultural events, epic stories and historic moments. I found them in Egmore, Adyar, ECR etc. Heard it’s all painted by art college students, thanks to Chennai Mayor. Art is an undisputed territory of Madras, there’s a saying “the world of art is too small”. I agree. You always find the best skills in the first page of your appendix.
