Mom, I wanna be a writer...

Those are the days when writing was such a pleasurous task to do. Everybody got a favorite window to stare. I got one in my old house, which I stared all through my childhood. Watching those clear night sky was so much fun, when writing up essays about life and object, sharpening the pencil to get the perfect blurred tip to sketch down some thought, wasn't that fun!! Today I do much of my diary writings with sketches of scenes I saw that day, with illustrative commentary. Looking back, I wrote so many things, funny and serious, straight and blended, often walking forth with the thought boundaries and ignorant visibility. Are writers respected in our society? (society = country). Shobha De has mixed reception, Robin Sharma enjoyed momentary glory, Chetan Bhagat found financial success. Is that all? I believe in something more. Mom, I wanna be a writer...

entanglement theory??

It was a crazy little book, but sure pushed me into deep thoughts on entanglement theory. Its an old theory of philosophy, which kept renewed in the lights of modern Noetic Science, a study of metasystem and mass-structure of vibrations. This theory says, all particles in the universe are connected, like the Gita preach, "all organisms are one and connected with the holy string of wisdom"!!

Noetic Science further talks about the mass properties of human thought! most focused the thought, most multiplied the nano-mass of the thought. Its states, "Thought, is a physical entity, with a mass close to zero, but not zero"!!

Do you agree, I strongly believe this answers the concepts of group meditation, presence of superior power, angels, demons, this is where it gets confusing, is this emphasizing No God Statehood!!!
(if you got some time, look into SuperString Theory)

Atheists know more...

“God helps those who help themselves” has long been one of those sayings misinformed people think is in the Bible. Sadly, too many people who claim to believe in God think it is part of Scripture. Their ignorance about such ultimate issues is exposed in the latest survey by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life. (courtesy FOX NEWS)

Here’s another surprise. –95% of atheists and agnostics tend to be people who grew up in a religious tradition and consciously gave it up, often after a great deal of reflection and study. This is my study from my year-long researches and care-ful reading of people's religious side.

Atheists are people who thought a lot about religion. To reject religion you must understand what you are rejecting.
Author C.S. Lewis had an experience (I'd die to be his pen), beginning as an atheist, then as he read the Bible, a theist, and then a convert to Christianity. He started by using his mind to discredit Scripture and ending up one of the most famous of all modern converts. So, whats the heck about being religious?

Life's not boring

I took a little break from this blog for a while, since I got busier with my new car!!
New music out? yup Rahmanji's "Jootha Hi Sahi" & "Robo", not as pathetic as entertaining. may be he doesn't want to spend time on Indian Projects. Katy Perry is on last month's Rollingstone Cover. Her father is a preacher, do you believe? Her new album "Teenage Dreams", not so funky, but sure she makes a fortune out of it. Shobha De's "Superstar India" is exceptionally engaging, I'm on the 276th page this morning. Bitter truth about changing Indian culture, economy & industry, elaborated in a diggy fashion with a strong sense of humor. Last week I ended up watching 4 movies in a row, "Rocker"(reminds my past!), "Valkyrie"(movies on Hitler never uninteresting), "Cocktail" (didn't want Tom to die, as a make up watched this classic romance) & "Hanna Montana"(delicious feast of country and groove together). Life's not boring, when you have right book, mag, movie & music to entertain yourself.

Just Beat It

for guys who ask Beat or Figo!!
red beat & dusk
I wasn't a huge car enthusiast until I inducted my profession in Automobiles. My dad tells me the story of my grand-dad's red Ford Prefect, which was used like a  family-transit van! My dad shows me that vintage picture, which I remember to every pixel. My dad keeps telling me he wants to get a 800. To my memory, 800 was my dream-car too in my college days, then I was eying the Alto. Thats the so called 'Couples Car'. I liked it, until I was employed by General Motors!! GM changed the way I looked cars for. Definitely, I re-vamped my desires and dreams. The famous 3C legend hit me (Corvette, Camaro & Cadillac). And as the first stone, I was aligned to get a Chevy, although a micro thought pressured me, that to relive the family-legend, to buy a Ford and bridge the gen-gap. With no much difficulty, I chose the Beat, for the looks, for the looks and for the looks as always. This car has a character, macho feel, that I can't explain in lines. Having booked a Beat, now I'm restless for its delivery, just go sleepless to hold the wheel. My wife tells me, "MJ's Beat It" should be the first song to be played in our first car. My 7 years car dream is a candid story I always remember to cherish myself.

New Age Gurus???

Recently I saw a debate on satellite tv, its about the modern age preachers, who formed corporate offices to teach or train people with yoga or meditation methods. The term they used to define them is "New Age Gurus", thats quite a beautiful term, an amalgamation of a musical genre. More than the term, some of the beautiful things talked on, was that all the teachings, these so called "New Age Gurus" preach are not original, they are somewhere rooted to... How many of us know the teachings of Buddha? All we know is that He preached to give-up desire. Thats a catch, we didn't deep-dive into his lessons. Buddha's teachings also include "Dependent origination, Cosmology, Karma & Rebirth". I'm personally conclusive that teachings of Buddha is a huge source for anybody who wants to preach something new!! Thats how the whole concept of Osha developed. He carefully blended and repainted the teachings of Buddha. And thats how, today's "New Age Gurus" originated too. Why go to them, when Buddha-hood is at reach!!!

Madras Walks

I’d a never before time in Madras. The so called Music City, has evolved into a hub of creative monsters. I took the opportunity to walk in my favorite places: Pantheon Road, TH Road, Beach Shore in the morning and night, The Madras Museum Theatre, it’s a splendid feel. The undeniable heat was troubling, but amazingly it troubled only the first day, after that I’m all set with the heat and salt. Rahman is still the best selling artist, anything with the tag name Rahman sells like a hot cake! The knack of finding the pulse of youth has been his highest form of skill. I remember right from the Prabhu Deva Dance Numbers, to the mid-College numbers, to today’s VTV numbers, Rahman knows the pulse. Somehow I cannot separate Rahman from Madras, I end-up mixing both the topics. One noticeable thing is the compound-wall constructed around Central Railway Station, they all have the same crown as the Central Station Tower. That’s a cute architectural-touch. Chennai Metropolitan has acquired some of the prominent street walls in Madras, and painted them with colorful cultural events, epic stories and historic moments. I found them in Egmore, Adyar, ECR etc. Heard it’s all painted by art college students, thanks to Chennai Mayor. Art is an undisputed territory of Madras, there’s a saying “the world of art is too small”. I agree. You always find the best skills in the first page of your appendix.

my new bose headset

There is always a secret joy in enjoy the best in class technology, thats how I felt when I pluged-in my first BOSE headset to my iTouch. The first thing I tried was listening to the classic records of Rahmanji.Very amazing that this headset is reproducing the sounds in a very different algorithm, which I could never understand until I spent a whole night hearing to it. In first place it looked like a treble-boost, but when i keened in, I could find the difference. Its not the treble-boost but the compressor used in boosting those rhythms and cymbals by the sound engineer during recording. Frankly some of the best old songs of Rahmanji (1990s) were not sounding great in Bose, instead it splitted the sounds and amalgamations into one full etherical experience. I loved it because it shows some of the ugly corners of the tracks, which isnt heard in any headset or any sound reproduction system. But my best pick were the recent works of AR, they sound the best, especially "Delhi6" why? simple, they are mixed with Mac!! I will pen more about the Bose algorithm in new posts sooner

whats special with a car?

One of the beautiful opportunities I enjoyed was renting-out different cars for my weekend commutation!! Ok, whats special about that; the V6? 3L disp? BHP? No! The sound system!!
When I took some time to open-up the hood and examine the packaged components, but more likely to attract me is my own subject, the sound system. I have heard same tracks in all the huge varieties of sound repoduction systems. The Dodge Charger came with a bass-boost system, C300 came with a sweet-mellow system of a disco smiley, PT Cruizer was a notch of brightness and pale, the best one of all is the Chevy Tahoe, which came with the Alpine System and Bose Speakers!!
I enjoyed hearing my compositions and alternative mixes, learnt a lot of inner layers, that can be textured. I could clearly see the sonic-picture of my tracks. Not to forget, I heard the best mix of the world, Rahmanji's late-90s compositions. The Atmos, Bass & FM7s sounded like a blended cake in the Bose!! One thing I didnt try was hearing a Jazz Classic.
Why dont I get a Bose and hook to a Mac?

Burritos from Jalapino

Had lunch at this brilliant Mexican Restaurant, Jalapino (pronounced as [j]Alapino). I had Burrito, stuffed with chicken and roasted with cheese. It cost $7, with tips came to $9, but paid $10 for I carried no change. Dan took me to this place, introduced me to the wide-variety of mexican sauces. Already Frank’s Red Hot Sauce was in my purchase list, now some jalapinos added to. Jalapinos are basically chillies (pepper as called in US) from mexico, which are eatable, not like our mirchi. In Burrito, they blended the jalapinos in the tortilla (some kind of flour like our roti), with chicken pickings and nothing else, finely wrapped with cheese dressings. Wasn’t it tastier!! I never had Mexican food filled with Chesse! Last time when I had Mexican, I chose a a dry deep oil fried chicken with mexican dressings. The restaurant has a deep sense of music, for they played some tracks, which hit the same tempo, with same deep voice, with those signature mexican horns. I loved everything except the fact that I couldnt finish the coke!!

From Chennai to Chicago!!

I finally went to Chicago. The Commercial Capital of United States, Man, 91 skyscrapers all together!! 9 more under construction, 1 more taller skier is coming up, its gonna be close to 2000ft. I read a lot about the Chicago Skyline before being there, so that I make sure, I at least know what buildings am looking at, and a little history or importance of it. I had a goose-bump experience when I saw the Hancock building, AON tower, Trump Tower and Willies Tower. They have huge huge history and artmanship in them. The Hancock is not the tallest, but that’s a symbol of Global Commercialization. The millennium park is the podium of this man’s victory speech, after the fierce battle to the top, sternly devised with brilliant marketing, branding and iconization, the Barack Obama entity. The parking levels and loop trains are part of the oldest culture. Above all I could see the Sears Tower from my hotel room window, I slept on the couch and watched its illuminated spikes all night! Finally some Jazzy touch, I walked on the streets and watched the smokey streets which smelt iron and coffee. Surely I didnt go to any jazz show or met any jazz players, but experienced the deep silent old buildings where legends once played.
(For a building to be called as a Skyscraper, she should be min 500ft taller, its not an official definition but thats how those 91 buildings were called for)

The Complete Works of Swamiji

I remember stacking up so many books of Swamiji, I perfectly understand there cannot be a substitute to a book made of paper and printed with words from a press ink. But the modern age fury, makes us so accustomed to e-books. I felt one good thing about e-book is the quick search facility. But yet we miss the beauty of appendix pages.

I came across this wonderful online depositary of Swami Vivekananda's Complete Works. Importantly the collection compiles all the public and private addresses, with extensive material written on all the Meditation methods, thesis on so many rare topics, article He wrote for Newyork papers and Chicago Papers, ofcourse the Chicago Speech.

Chicago... I'm coming to you...

I'm so crazy about this city, Chicago, the best part of the story is I never been to Chicago at all. In previous life? I dont know. But this city somehow created a huge inspiration. In my boyhood days, I have read some of the beautiful things about this City. The first ever book I bought was a small 30 pages book-let, "Swami Vivekananda's Chicago Address". I got that in a subway in Madras, when I was about 10. Back in my 20s, I was hearing a lot of Jazz music. Surprised to learn that, all the Jazz legends are either from Chicago or Detroit. I've been to detroit, its a city in decline, no much jazz scene there, except the Motown Museum. But Chicago is still a great place for Jazz.

But my mind isnt thinking of just listening jazz music there, but walk those iconic streets, where my favourite jazz musicians walked and smoked out their jazz improvisations. Oscar Peterson, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, whomelse. Everybody walked and played on those streets. I just wanna walk in the smokey streets of jazz, and breathe the inspiration from vibrations of great jazz composers. Chicago is to Jazz like, what Vienna for Classical music.
(I'll make my maiden trip to Chicago this weekend)

Orange juice at the Snow-lit window pane

I clicked this picture in my hotel room, it was a snowy day out, bristles of powdery snow slowly creeping on the trees and grass. The private lamps illuminates a preferably dark night, with the white reflections from the snow-roads. I inside my 60F warm room, poured orange juice into a glass, and was about to sip. But wondered the beauty nature beheld. God is the mighty artist of this large white canvas.

This picture was shot from a dark room, with only the snow reflections adding color of brightness. I took a little care in capturing the geometry and depth of my window pane.

Turner Classic Movies

I got a wonderful channel here in united states, called TCM, Turner Classic Movies. They broadcast old classical movies from 40s to 60s, sometimes even from 20s. Yesterday I was watching a very good Italian Movie called Giulietta degli spiriti (1965). Its more a kind of visual psychology movie. All the mental stress and distraction the lead role Juliet feels is portrayed as visuals in real time. I loved the way the director interpretted the fears and fantasies. Capturing them in real-time is other part of the ethology. I loved it top to bottom.

Today I saw a very funny romantic-comedy called 'The Bachelor And The Bobby Soxer'. i dont know why they name Bobby Soxer comes in the title, but I loved it too. I liked the lead role Nungent’s personality and the stubborn, hard heroine Margarat’s attractive face. Their love chemistry and dialogues, everything looked perfect. The Margarat's character is skeptic, strong toned, secret obsession, dislike, romance, possessive. The Nungent's character shows a well disciplined man's outfit with a little darker past and little close to a criminal record. Now whenever I say 'little close' I wonder, how close? Definitely not far!! The character that suffers the teenage love is the sister of Margarat, another funny-schooler  in her late teenage.

reactions on 'scandals in monarchies'

I literally feel, to be precise, spiritually feel: the last sect of monk and saint-ism ended with Swami Vivekananda. I understand there is not true life of saint or monk or buddha after him. A monk is a being of high spiritual composure, one who has extreme control of all his senses. Sadly, lately no spiritual guru has been the way  Swamiji was & is!!

I understand there are many meditators and fellow monkologists, but still all these men walk across the thin line of Saint and a Sinner..... may be thats a curse to the modern world.....

I dont get it!!

I dont get it!!

God is a cool guy with hippy philosophy, but Scientology never looks that way. When someone comes to you and say 'some 12 trillion years ago God created these valcano holes'. It needs a daring heart like ed hardy art on black tshirts. I dont get it. There are only 2 categories of people, Religious People and Sane People!!

freedom of speech.

I got to tell you, I see so much of freedom to talk in America.

I was watching this stand-up comedian, called Bill Maher. He really made me laugh on so many topics, i never dreamt i'll enjoy a topic like that. but also, he has this knack of putting forth his points and practical issues with the topic. but the degree of freedom he enjoys is damn huge.

He's more than a stand-up comedian, he tours and fills galleries of 10000 and just entertains them for an hour with just non-stop speech and fun-filled topics.

I saw his show on HBO, he talked on aero-science, barack obama, black models, arabian models, health care, why men are crazy, why men looks other girls, the tiger wood scandal, he made fun on everybody, including jesus christ. i was mouthshut to see the way he interprets the current affairs. i just cant imagine such a thing can ever happen in India. someone in NDTV or IBM talking like that, abt prime minister or some holy God. that results in riots. why?

because we are fundamentalists... we dont want entertainers, or news readers, or anchors, or radio jockeys to touch our fundamentals. as long as he comes round the  our ethics, we are fine. but if tries to punge into our fundas, we react strongly, sometime badly. thats the difference.

in India, we have so many voices, talking together, like a kindergarden class before prayer bell.

This Bill Maher, has an assaulty style of putting words, against himself and in his little sighs, he explain a whole lot of new ideas.

I tried browsing his name, and found and added in my facebook.

everyday on the way to office, taxi driver plays a canadian radio station 88.7Hz. its a talk show of group of 2 guys and 1 girl. they dont have any specific topic, they dont have boundaries too. they talk on every possible topics of the world. the most frequent  one is 'adulesant events'.. i was not that interested in the beginning, i use to hit the seek button and change to a rock music station on 96Hz. but then i started getting the essence of the show. they pick every instincts of public opinion.

one good thing being in America, you atleast get a chance to watch others using their freedom of speech to the extreme most, unimaginable level.
